New Project - MTV

I have been having eye-dears for this snazzy new MTV project. I have been thinking that because MTV, (MTV2 especially) desribes itself as "the boys and girls toilets in an indie night club," i sort of immediately wanted to do something the opposite to that. So i started thinking of quaint village scenes, clouds, rainbows, model railways, that sort of thing. OH.... and snow globes... Definately LOTS of snow globes!

these are the designs i have done. I still need to add the glass of orange juice that the straws are leading to. I am pleased with my outcome, i think it looks good!

What I've got so far...

Below is the point that i am up to at the moment. i need to connect all the letters, create off shooting straws and extend it into a drink... i also need to think about size on a page, layout, and all that.. I also need to add "ship" to the end... i think "friendship" is a better word than "friends"..... (it makes me think of Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Joey and Chandler... not good.")

These are two jumper monkeys Laura and I made for my dad for his birthday this year..... He is 59. I put them up because I think they're amazing.

straws, straws, everywhere and not a drink to suck...

well, i have been creating letters from straws with the idea in mind that the term "your group" is based on friendship and connections and i am using straws because i think they are quite optimistic objects as they are something you use just before you are refreshed by a cool drink.... they also connect to each other really well. but i have been making letters and so far i have the letters F-R-I-E, of the word friendship.... although i am not too sure of that word. but i like what is coming out of it.

Sucking Straws

I decided that the term "your group" was leading me towards the idea of connections and links, which produced my last drawings, then i decided to get 3-D on this projects arse and play with some straws. Below are some outcomes.









Above is a creation i made, it is the beginnings of a 3D heart. I like it. the heart is such a personal thing and thats what connections between friends and family is... personal.

This is another drawing i've done.

SPRING TERM STARTS HERE.

so ORANGE is the colour of spring! after the briefing i went away feeling pretty go about a couple of the keywords, but stuck for ideas, so i went through my photos and did some drawings, then traced them all on my wacom...(cool) and this is how it is so far... the drawings have come from the idea friends and people and networks. right now they are basic drawings which i want to use as a jumping off point. they are themed towards fun and looseness and spreading out.
